After the arrival of artist？Donald Judd in Marfa during the 1970’s， there was a convergence of art and ranching cultures that infused a magical and somewhat psychedelic quality to the town，？set against such a peaceful and dramatic landscape.？This dynamic community would become the backdrop for Liz Lambert’；s vision of freedom， community and adventure whose roots lay in childhood visits to her？family’s cattle ranches near Marfa.personalized wedding party gifts
She created El Cosmicopersonalized toys， a hippy-ish retreat/hotel with wonderful amenities and a very cool philosophy. It offers a variety of simple， unique accommodations — teepees， tents and trailors — that promote sitting on porches， naps and other moments of non-action， in her words： “；liberation from an obsession with productivity ‘；now， I do nothing for a little while.’；
We find that even El Cosmico’；s website is both freshing and inspiring. We took a mini virtual vacation checking out the interiors of trailors and tents， imagining ourselves there OR maybe having a trailor of our own someday， on a piece of land.
This lit up teepee looks cozy and ‘；chill’；：
…；as does this interior of a tent…；
…；We just want to settle into this trailor and hang out：
We especially love El Cosmico’；s philosophy of Ma？ana， which seems very much like our own：
Ma？ana doesn’；t care about email or normal hours of operation. Ma？ana recognizes that we can’；t all have everything we want at any given moment， like peaches in January or cell phone reception in West Texas. Ma？ana is the anticipation that it might happen today， and it might just as likely not， and really either way it’；s not that big of a deal. The key to Ma？ana lies somewhere in the unspecified future. It holds the great promise of hope.
…；This is not to be understood as irreverence for timeliness and progress. We believe in those things too. But life gets busy. The way you thought things would go just aren’；t the way they end up…； Best intentions are waylaid. But it seems like sometimes the only way to make something really amazing is through a steady balance of kicking the dirt around and napping. This is what we do.
The good news： eventually ma？ana arrives. The tomorrows of our dreams become the todays of our reality.
