Happy Friday， my DIY decorating friends!？ We’；re going to let you in on a little secret today.？ Did you know that Cutting Edge Stencils has a pretty big CRUSH on patterns？？ Ah you’；re right that’；s no secret.？ OK， well we happen to be browsing one of our favorite home decor sites， West Elmpersonalized gifts for kids， when we found out that they have a crush on patterns too!？ It’；s almost like we’；re twinsies! Ikats， stripes， and chevron oh my!？ We were oohing and aahing over all their pretty patterns and eagerly ready to fill up our carts.？ And then reality set in and we saw $$$ noted beneath our coveted items.？ Let’；s just say we nearly fell off our chairs.
And that’；s when our creative light bulbs went off!？ What if we used OUR？stencils and Benjamin Moore paint colors to recreate the West Elm looks we love？？ Sounds like an awesome idea to us.？ Let’；s get started…；pillow sham pattern
We can totally see what all the stripe hype is about after catching a glimpse of this Iron-colored Zigzag rug. ？ We LOVE this zippy pattern in a bold black and white color scheme.
STEAL THE LOOK： Do you love the rug but not the $549 price tag？？ We got your back on this one!？ Buy a plain white or off-white rug.？ Some of our fans have had success at finding inexpensive rugs at Ikea.？ Then paint our trendy Chevron Allover Stencil ($32.95) in Benjamin Moore’；s brown horse 2108-10 to get a similar look.？ Read this tutorial to get the step-by-step deets.
What’；s not to love about this Parson’；s Wall Mirror？？ This uber popular wall mirror has a sophisticated look and a cool gray herringbone pattern.
STEAL THE LOOK： Don’；t have $299 to shell out for a wall mirror？？ We can help you get that look for a whole lot less.？ Recreate this look using a simple flat framed mirror like this one spotted at Ikea.？ Paint the frame white and then stencil our Herringbone Craft Stencil ($17.95) in a soft grey hue like Benjamin Moore’；s revere pewter HC-172. You’；ll have a stunning wall mirror in no time!
When it comes to curtains， West Elm has a great selection of pretty patterns.？ Just like these Painted Ikat Print Curtains that are rich， cool， and add instant ambiance to any decor.？ But one panel can cost $99. Yikes!
STEAL THE LOOK： Have no fear because stealing this look with a stencil is going to be easy peasy!？ Purchase a plain white curtain (we’；ve even seen some fans use a drop cloth) and then stencil our Ikat Zig Zag pattern in a classic， deep blue hue like Benjamin Moore’；s hale navy HC-154! Read the step-by-step instructions in this blog post.
Who doesn’；t love a patterned floor pouf like this Kite Kilim Floor Pouf ？？ Not only are they fun to look at but they can be used for so many things from casual seating to a temporary side table!？ Unfortunately the $249 price tag can be a real wallet drainer.
STEAL THE LOOK： This project is totally doable but slightly more challenging since it will require some sewing skills to complete.？ Purchase plain white or off-white fabric and paint our Alexa Allover Stencil in a dark hue like Benjamin Moore’；s jet black 2120-10.？ Check out Audra’；s tutorial on how to create a dog bed which is similar in size and shape to the floor pouf.
We hope you enjoyed our DIY projects today!？ Oh， and if this is West Elm reading， then we hope there are no hard feelings.？ We still love you and your patterned home decor!

When Crispin Young Wilson‘s friend relayed that her 4-year-old son Benjamin was having trouble sleeping in his room, the server hardware repairer put her side hobby to good use. The Hood River, Oregon native spent the day painting a spectacular, glow-in-the-dark galaxy on the ceiling of Benjamin’s room. “[My friend] has a little boy who refused to sleep in his own room,” she shared. “When my friend got his new place, he wanted me to come over and paint the room, hoping it would entice his son to sleep in it.”
