So I’;ve never really had the urge to make a candle, but I have all these baby food jars and the fabric tea lights were so popular, I thought I’;d give it a shot. It’;s crazy easypersonalized gifts for kids, you can buy everything you need at Michael’;s or Amazon cheaply, and the result is a super-posh way to recycle baby food jars into fun party place cards that will make everyone think you are some sort of crafty wizard.

Get the how-to after the jump…;

1. Get your baby food jars nice and clean. If you don’;t have Goo Goneyou should get some because it’;s amazing for getting off gunky stuff like old labels:

3. Buy Microwaveable Soy Wax, a pound will get you about 4-5 baby food jar candles. Put some in a microwavable container and heat it in 30 second increments until it is completely melted. I started with a ramekin, but it wasn’;t big enough, see:

it melted down

I have a friend who is living in some tight quarters.? And her bathroom, as she explained, is kind of like a “closet”.? While we no longer have the same issues (thank goodness for a few cupboards)……..I totally feel her pain.? We have lived in MANY apartments with the same problem.? All there’s room for is one little toilet…….and luckily, a sink.? There have been many times we’ve had no storage space for toilet paper, towels, cleansers, nothing.? And yes, I know, it’s so FRUSTRATING!? So, this friend of mine saw one of these toilet paper holders and asked if I could duplicate it for her.? Well, why not?? Let’s fix that little problem!

Fall has brought many wonderful sew-alongs among the online sewing community. In my real life sewing group, we are currently working to improve our wardrobe by sewing the Classic White Shirt. With the holiday season, winter months, and snow storms upon us, some of you are gearing up or have begun making coats, jackets and warm weather fare. (Not for me!) But for you guys up north. I have a few important tips you may want to consider when working with the difference fabrications, as with woolens, corduroy, and “OH, Yeah!” fleece.

You don't have to live near the sea to adopt the coastal look for your home, but you can be inspired by it! Us Brits have a natural affinity to the sea and the beautiful vistas that frame it. This may not be the gleaming white sands and bright blue water other countries boast but that doesn't stop us dreaming of them or indeed incorporating both our own countries shores and those in warmer climates into our interior design ideas.
